The History of Le Joint Français
1907 The company was fonded in Bezons 1922 The company became a subsidiary of La Compagnie Générale d'Electricité (CGE) (now Alcatel) 1954  A licensing agreement was signed with the American PRC (Product Research and Chemical) company for the manufacture of sealants. 1962  The production plant in Saint-Brieuc was opened. 1963  The company acquired the Stillman licence, marker of seals for the aerospace industry. 1968  The German subsidiary T.D.S. was opened.
1980  The company was organized into separate divisions for rubber products and Sealants, Adhesives &Coatings. 1981  The plant at Château-Gontier was opened for O-ring manufacture.
1987 Hutchinson took control of Le Joint Français. 1993 The insulating galss and automotive business of Bostik was transferred to the Sealants, Adhesives &Coatings Division of LJFM. 2000 Le Joint Français, a subsidiary of the Hutchinson group, becomes part of the oil group TOTAL.
